Izmir University of Economics Student Clubs are waiting for you!

The University Football Team, within the body of Izmir University of Economics Youth and Sports Club, is ready to kick-off 2018-2019 season in Second Amateur Division.  

Students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Vocational School “Furniture and Decoration“ and “Interior Design” programs visited ENGELSIZMIR as part of their ‘Special Solutions for Disabled’ course.     

Students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Vocational School “Furniture and Decoration“ and “Interior Design” programs visited the 3^rd International ENGELSIZMIR (ACCESSIBLE IZMIR) 2018 Congress under the theme of "New Production Models and Employment for People with Disabilities" held by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, with the organization of IZFAS on November 1-3, 2018 at Fuar Izmir fair grounds.

Turk and Japan design students designed a student house in Yeşilova Mound within the scope of a workshop hosted by IUE. 11 Turk students from Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department, IUE and 9 Japan students from Architecture Department, Chiba University exhibited their joint works at the end of the project. Japan students, aside from professional training, were introduced both vernacular architecture and contemporary structures in Izmir in technical visits to Ephesus and Kemeraltı together with Yeşilova Mound. They also visited Izmir Branch of Chamber of Interior Architects.

Twelve university students participated in the competition, “Hack Our Style”, which is co-organized by Atlasglobal and Hugo Boss, with the aim of creating innovative designs for cabin crew uniforms. Yaren Eren, junior at IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design, came in first place at the competition. Eren stated that she studied math and science in high school, however, her interest in design, led her to fashion. “I scored high in the university entrance exam. I preferred Department of Fashion and Textile Design at Izmir University of Economics to benefit from the qualified education and best opportunities the school offered. I got very excited about the competition when I heard about it in class. We have a busy study schedule but I got motivated about the competition thinking about working with two companies in the sector,” said Eren.

Thousands of people are waiting for organ and tissue transplantation in our country. Despite this fact, the number of donors is quite a few. In order to raise awareness regarding this issue, The Organ and Tissue Transplantation Week is celebrated between 3rd and 9th of November every year.

Assoc. Prof. Aslı Ceylan Öner, Head of IUE Department of Architecture, Kaan Günay, Student Council President, and Alara Tun, Member of the Executive Board of Kemalist Thought Club, delivered a speech at the ceremony on campus where IZTO Council Members, IUE faculty and staff, and students attended.

Izmir University of Economics, who played in the “November 10, Ataturk Memorial Day Tournament” against Izmir Institute of Technology, Katip Çelebi University, and Dokuz Eylül University basketball teams, qualified for the champions cup.  

Izmir University of Economics (IUE), contributing to Turkey’s scientific power through an international education system, will start 2017 – 2018 academic year with new departments and programs. Students joining Izmir University of Economics community in the new academic year will receive a next generation medical training. Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Medicine will admit 60 students. Also, Departments of Physics, Mathematics, and Economics, and Call Center Services, Retail and Retail Management, Legal Office Management and Secretariat, Computer Programming (evening education), and Graphics Design (evening education) programs will start education with their first students this year.
